2005 Ladd Cellars Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast Gap's Crown Vineyard

Colour: red hazy fire!

Nose:OH Strawberries! Rich, cool jucy style! Pepper and Strawberries was the name of the game!!! I love this intense ripe crisp Pinot Noir!!!! As it stood in the glass it gained some more earthy tones and mushrooms! This was velvet dream!

Taste: lush sexy red berries! More strawberry then medium-ripe red cheries and cranberry! the aftertaste was a more spicy/oaky style. I just wanted to drink it all the time!!! This was the second time Britt and I had this wine and it was just as good if not better this time! Mathias loved it too!!

2005 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

Initially powerful truffled, earthy black cherry liqueur nose that settles down quickly in the glass to reveal pure, sweet red cherry, spice rack, strawberry, and light toasty oak. Medium bodied, very fresh tasting. Improved consistently as it sat in the glass, in particular the midpalate. My third time tasting it and the balance improves each time. A winner, though for my palate i'd give this another six months to let the oak integrate a bit further.

2005 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

This wine needs about 1-2 hours decanting to show its stuff. Once it is open, it shows beautifully. It opens much more on the mid-palate than it does aromatically. It smells great right off the bat. I get light fruit coastal aromatics of cherry and light fruits on the palate will well integrated spice. The spiciness carries the wine into a long finish. A very well made pinot for the pinot lover.
