This is a new and unique area for the Sonoma Coast. Due to the Petaluma Gap and the winds, this is worthy of
the Sonoma Coast designation. The volcanic soils give the wines a 'wild' character I haven't experienced elsewhere, with the exception of the
Sangiacomo Vineyard on Roberts Rd, which is next to Gap's Crown. Gap's Crown produces somewhat big, concentrated wines but that
have high levels of acidity to balance it. Gap's Crown vineyard is owned by Premier Pacific, which is funded by The California Public Employees' Retirement System...so making this wine is helping my 3rd grade teacher.
